Resolve Maritime Academy offers a full range of portable fire extinguisher training that can be crafted to meet marine training, fire brigade and first responders needs ranging from fixed facilities and from small craft to the largest commercial vessel. The training includes using the extinguishers in actual fire conditions on propane-fueled props that include class A fires, a generator, a galley stove, a pressurized pipe and flange, a burning fuel fire, and a helicopter simulator. The course is open to anyone who needs portable fire extinguisher training for their place of employment required by OSHA. This course provides the necessary training to meet the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) code, table A-VI/3 and satisfies the USCG requirement (46CFR Part 10) for license upgrade and renewal and fulfills the STCW-95 Basic Safety Training requirements for firefighting.

Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to identify classes of fire, the appropriate portable extinguisher to use on the fire and the proper use a portable fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
