An entry level course that is a minimum requirement for every crew member and deckhand that is involved with tender operations. Providing the skills and knowledge to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (I.C.C.) and MCA commercial endorsement.

Course content:

• Preparing a tender for use
• Personal & vessel safety equipment
• Low speed boating handling
• Securing to a buoy
• Man overboard recovery
• Anchoring
• Close quarters handling - marina work, leaving and coming alongside, turning in a confined space
• Handling a vessel at planing speed
• Theory: IRPCS, Weather, Tides, Charts, Buoyage, Basic navigation/Pilotage, Use of a chart plotter
