The Yachtmaster Coastal practical exams can be taken under sail or power and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.

Either the candidate or a training centre can provide the boat, with the RYA providing an examiner.

The exam will include an assessment of your skippering skills, boat handling, general seamanship, navigation, safety awareness and knowledge of the IRPCS (collision regulations), meteorology and signals.

 There are no 'open courses' for this course, dates shown on STCW Direct are for indicative purposes only. Courses are run as per individual requirement, so please call us for more information and to book your slot.
