* This course requires on-site assessments and examination after completion of the online portion per USCG approval guidelines.

This online program includes all required course theory through presentations, reference material, videos and quizzes in the required subject areas. A completion receipt will be issued upon completion of the online portion with directions for scheduling the required assessments and examinations with Northeast Maritime Institute. USCG approval requires on-site assessment and examination.

This courses meets the requirements of both U.S. 46 CFR 12 Subpart 10.1 as well as STCW95 Section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2-1. Required U.S. assessments for Proficiency in Survival Craft located in NVIC 04-14 are also covered.

Objective:

To provide the necessary background and knowledge of the subjects concerning the requirements and duties of a Lifeboatman. Upon completion of the online portion of the course, assessments and exam, the student will receive a certificate of completion, to be recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard for a Proficiency in Survival Craft certificate and an endorsement for proficiency in survival craft, meeting the requirements of the STCW Code Section A-VI/2 and
A-VI/2-1.
