North East Fishermen's Training Association
NEFTA has been operating since 1984.
We primarily serve Commercial Fishermen, Marine Scotland personnel, Universities, Colleges and Hobby seagoing enthusiasts. This enables them to meet the legal requirements set out by the MCA for safe seagoing activities.
We are an approved MCA (STCW), RYA and Seafish Training centre.
Our suite includes STCW PST (Sea Survival), STCW EFA (Elementary First Aid), Seafish courses up to under 16.5m Skipper certification, which include Stability, Watchkeeping, RYA SRC VHF Radio, Seafish Basic Mandatory courses - 1 Day Firefighting, Health & Safety and Safety Awareness.
Online courses offered are ENG 2, New Entrant, Stability,Stability for Experienced fishermen and Advanced Stability and RYA. These courses include final classroom examinations.
