I had an absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end. Although there are a lot of incredible people here, to include all the amazing front office ladies, but I have say Kerry is the shining star! She is incredibly knowledgeable and goes out of her way, above and beyond, to take care of her students. I am thankful to have her, and the rest of the ladies on my side as I navigate the Coast Guard red tape. I couldn't have done it without them.

Maritime professional training is essential for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility of seafarers and maritime operations worldwide. This training equips individuals with the skills and knowledge required to navigate the complexities of working at sea, from basic safety procedures to advanced navigation and engineering techniques. One of the key strengths of maritime professional training is its focus on practical, hands-on learning. Trainees often undergo simulated scenarios that replicate real-life challenges at sea, allowing them to develop critical problem-solving skills in a controlled environment. This approach not only builds technical competence but also fosters teamwork and communication, which are vital in the high-pressure environment of a ship. The training is also highly standardized, particularly under frameworks like the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) program. This ensures that maritime professionals globally adhere to a consistent set of competencies, enhancing safety and operational standards across the industry. The availability and accessibility of high-quality training can vary, particularly in developing regions, which may impact the overall effectiveness of the program. Additionally, the demanding nature of the training, both physically and mentally, can be challenging for some. Maritime professional training is indispensable for maintaining the global standards that keep seafarers safe and maritime operations running smoothly.

AMAZING people and place (especially the front office personnel)! BIG SHOUT OUT to Ms Kerry for being patient as a Saint with me figuring out what I do/don’t need to retrieve my expired license. She is a wealth of information and has a plethora of knowledge about mariner licensing! The instructors are professional and very knowledgeable in their prospective subjects. Good experience all around! Would highly recommend for all your maritime classes!

Thank You to all the staff involved with there efforts pertaining to the completion of our STCW refresher. Inclement weather at the public pool or should I say over exaggerated static electricity indicator would not allow the completion of our course. Alan and office staff found another alternative for us and although late, We all were able to complete the course! Kudos to all and much thanks!!

The facility is really nice. I definitely felt well prepped for the testing (more so than at other marine training elsewhere). The area was friendly and convenient to be on foot from the hotel to school (for 3 weeks) and I think that's a big advantage.
The coffee/lunch joint across the street is definitely handy. Good experience in my bookHeather
Best school in the country! So happy I found this school! They helped me all the way through the process of getting my 100ton captains license. Kevin was a great instructor I highly recommend him!

I can not say enough good things about MPT, I have upgraded and attended classes at MPT many times over the years,. Recently I had an issue with some documentation for the USCG. All staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
A special shout out to Julie, she is an invaluable source of information and her guidance was instrumental in getting this done, her knowledge of USCG regulations and STCW requirements is unrivaled in the industry.. Thanks again Julie :)
If you need anything in maritime training do not bother going anywhere else. I have attended every major maritime training facility over my career and MPT is by far the best out there.

Great experience. I did a course recently and enjoyed it. Kevin was an outstanding instructor, the whole place is very professional, clean and organized. Highly recommend. Will be coming back in the future for another course for sure

By far, without a doubt, the most professional and updated maritime training facility I’ve ever had the pleasure of training at. To start, the office personnel are well knowledgeable on all aspects of licensing and certifications. The instructors are approachable and you can tell they love what they do.

Every time I take a course here I leave feeling successful. I had a phenomenal experience with all of the office staff, particularly Julie and Teri who helped me through all the paperwork an such. But most importantly my instructor, Russ. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and real. He relates the class to literal vessel experiences, listens to what you have to say, and answers all of your questions with fantastic explanations.
Thank you Russ and all of the MPT staff! I’ll be back for more!Corey
All the instructors that I've had over the years have been great. Highly recommend.

10/10 would recommend. I finished a 2 week course including STCW certification and Silver Service course. All of the instructors were great, engaging, and attentive. The facilities and staff were responsive and very friendly and helpful when needed.

Maritime Professional Training offers an impressive array of courses that cater to the marine industry. I recently completed the 100-ton course, and I am beyond thrilled with my experience. I had the pleasure of learning from Captain Georgia Hilton, who not only led by example as an inspiring female figure in the field, but also possessed remarkable expertise that fully prepared me for my exam.
Captain Hilton's knowledge of key subjects like the Rules of the Road, plotting, navigation, and more, was second to none. I owe a great deal of gratitude to her for equipping me with the skills and knowledge to succeed in this industry. One benefit of completing this course is that it opened my eyes to the lack of adherence to marine regulations by some boat operators in Miami. I am now equipped with the appropriate skills and mindset to ensure that I follow the rules as a responsible captain.
Overall, I have nothing but praise for Maritime Professional Training, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking to learn and succeed in the marine industry.
PS: I made great friends while being here!John P
MPT is the authority in Fort Lauderdale when it comes to maritime training.. I've explored and entertained all options locally, and no one comes close to MPT. Everyone there is extremely professional, super kind, and very helpful. Jennifer in particular was the one that took me under her wing and has made everything possible for me by opening so many doors, informing me extensively, and enlightening me of all the various avenues available to me as a yachting professional new to the industry. I am so very happy I discovered MPT, and I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone looking to further their professional knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

Great school! Went there for 6 months and wouldn’t go anywhere else. All the girls in the office are great and willing to help out with anything.
All the instructors in the school are very knowledgeable, most have been Captains so practicality and reality is implemented along with the books.Adam Shatzkamer
Honestly, I feel bad for anyone who takes classes anywhere else. The ladies in the office, and in particular Teri, Julie, and Jen, are absolutely wonderful. The boss Lisa is caring and attentive. But I have to share the bulk of my kudos for Kevin, my instructor. Kevin is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, truly cares about his students success, and also manages to keep class fun and interactive while imparting his crucial knowledge. I’m so grateful to MPT and would recommend the place to anyone!

I took my initial Captains course here a couple years ago and it was amazing. My instructor was extremely knowledgeable and helped me learn the materials to needed pass. The front desk staff is extremely nice and knowledgable to this day whenever I have questions regarding how to upgrade my license or renew. Shoutout to Jennifer for being extremely nice and helping me out with all of my questions. SHES THE GOAT

Recently did a GMDSS course here, the instructors are great and knowledgable. However once starting the second week of GMDSS I couldn't make the first part of class due to an interview because at the time I've was looking for work. Missing half a day I was then told I could not continue for the week. I was prepared to catch up but I was told it was policy to not let me continue. Also as per me missing that one half a day they then told me a refund is not possible but it was their decision to not let me continue the course. I was told that was the policy but was not read the policy where it clearly states that. I was hoping a school of this stature would appreciate that we are looking for work as seafarers during these courses often times, but there is no understanding from their part. The amount of time spent in class where an instructor chats is often where time wasting goes but I was not allowed to continue the week for an important reason? It is my personal experience and mine only but it was a sour one.

My experience at MPT was just simply outstanding. I’ll try to keep it brief. Customer service/administration was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. They are all professional, helpful and polite with no exceptions. The facility is also state of the art with clean amenities, class room and common area. The wifi signal is also strong around the campus for foreigners who don’t have a data plan. The lecturers are knowledgeable, thorough also patient when delivering the course. Highly recommend this institution for any of their courses you might be interested in.

MPT is by far the best and most helpful school. I have taken courses from STCW to 100T and had a great experience throughout. The instructors are top notch, the courses are understandable yet rigorous, and the incredible staff in the office will walk you through everything step. I will only use MPT for myself and will recommend to anyone seeking a maritime license.

Engineer 3rd asst prep class was a joke. No structure to the class at all and the instructor actually bought another companies testing software and tried to teach with it because it had better and more up to date material (which I'm sure is against that companies license and user agreement). Do not waste your time or the ridiculous amount of money they charge for this class.
Charlie
I needed their services for renewing my captain license, but unfortunately, they did not have any dates available when I needed them. Melissa at the front desk was a star. She helped me with a list of items I needed and informed me about the place for the physical and drug test. Super friendly and helpful! I will definitely turn to MPT for all my training needs in the future. Thank you!

I have been going to MPT for 9 years and have done all my classes through them. Its a great school however, Terry that works in the front office has attitude and more importantly will give you wrong information on courses. Tried to tell me I needed to do a number of courses in order to get the license I initially inquired about. Terrible employee and tries to take money from you.

People from all over the world go here for the world class training! The front office is always helpful & friendly! Especially Terri and Shirly! They really help out allot and that makes the whole experience that much better!

These folks a super helpful! I enjoy every time I interact with them and they have been super helpful along my journey. Highly recommend.

Too bad they can’t follow up with people who reach out for information. Went in to see someone a few weeks ago. Individual wasn’t in so I left my email. STILL nothing from them. Way to drop the ball and lose a potential student. Not sure when communicating and simple, common courtesy and customer service became such a Herculean task.

I attended MPT for my AEC1&2 courses and loved the entire experience. Kind, witty, and funny teachers taught me much more than I expected. I'll be attending for other maritime courses in the future. And you should too.

I visited MPT today and spoke with Miss Teri and she was extremely helpful, polite, and knowledgeable about all the needs that I had. She made sure that I had all of the necessary information so that I could successfully accomplish renewing my Captain's license

They help me get ready to become a merchant mariner and they thoroughly help me on knowing the basics, emergencies and tips onboard!

Just went through their Master Captains course, every staff member I talked to was very professional and friendly. It is a lot of information to take in in two weeks, but my instructor (C. Chavez) was very patient and was able to simplify and thoroughly explain anything I didn't fully comprehend. I will definitely recommend MPT to anyone who is wanting to further their maritime training. Big shout out to the ladies that work the front desk as well! I know that they most likely deal with some silly questions and big egos on a daily basis, but any time I saw them they always had a smile on their face and a positive attitude. Very awesome experience overall!

I took my masters captains license here and had a good experience. The captain Chris Chavez the instructor knew what he was talking about and was a great teacher.

Having been to many maritime schools. This one is by far the best. The instructors are in or were in the industry and teach not only how to pass the test but real world knowledge. The admin staff are amazing, you tell them your end result and they'll tell you all the classes you need to get there. I've rarely been upselled for classes I didn't need. They cover USCG and MCA. Commercial and yachting. Engineering to steward dept. And all things safety basic to advanced.
