Terms and Conditions
Courses
The onus is on you to ensure that you are on the right course, unless arrangements have being made, your course fees are to be paid up front before you will be accepted in the class.
All courses begin at 08:00 Sharp and will run through to 15:30 each day. These time must be strictly adhered to according to the training regulations.
PLEASE NOTE that should you be more than 30 minutes late for any given course, you will not be able to join the class and will have to reschedule for the following course.
DO NOT make any appointments during your course hours, as these are competency based courses and you will need to be in attendance at all times.
Cancellations: we require at least 14 working days’ notice for the cancellation of any courses. Should this not be adhered to a cost of 50% of the course cost will become applicable as your seat has being booked and assumed to be occupied on the day of course.
Should you request a refund with 14 days, a 10% handling fees will be levied
Requirements
Maritime Safety Training and Development (Pty) Ltd has ZERO tolerance with regards to alcohol and drugs. Hungover or intoxicated learners will be asked to leave the premises and reschedule their courses. Random testing will be done if there is any suspicion that you are hungover or intoxicated.
Please ensure that you have a Black Pen and your Identity Document (Passport) with you at all times. Driver’s licences are not accepted
Food and accommodation are not provided in the course cost – you are required to supply your own lunch and accommodation.
Fire Fighting is not done on our premises and therefore you are required to provide your own transport. Should you require transport, it can be arranged at a cost of R350-00 for all three days, this is an additional cost for which you are responsible to pay the driver. Those requiring transport will be expected to be at our premises by 07:30 as the bus leaves at 08:00 sharp. Don’t be late.
Dress Code
Our dress code in casual, however we do insist that you wear closed shoes for safety reasons.
We do supply Personal Protective Clothing where required, but please bring along a thick pair of socks.
For Survival Courses you will be expected to jump into the pool and swim. Please bring along T shirt, shorts and a towel for this purpose. GIRLS, No bikinis or one piece swim suits, you will be expected to be physical in the pool, so please provide pants and a closed shirt, as we want you to be comfortable while doing pool drills.

To receive training in a safe and controlled environment by qualified Facilitators.
To have your competency skills, assessed by a qualified Assessors.
That all training events are limited to a maximum number of learners, according to the regulations
That all courses are accredited by the South African Maritime Safety Authority and the STCW Code of practice.
